Computer Technician /Bus Driver Remainder of 23-24 SY

                                                           

Job Title:    Computer Technician /Bus Driver

Directly Responsible to the Technology Director and Transportation Director

 

 

 

 

Description of Responsibilities:   -

 Computer Technician -Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Provide technical support in coordination with the Helpdesk via phone, email, or in person. Using troubleshooting skills, determine the source of hardware and software issues, and whether or not they can be resolved quickly or will require further research or escalation. 

 

  • Assist with asset management by maintaining accurate hardware and software inventory information to comply with strict inventory and audit procedures.
  • Deployment of equipment including Windows workstations, Chrome devices, printers, document cameras, and various other technology devices. 
  • Able to repair a variety of devices including desktops, Chromebooks, and laptops by following documented repair procedures.
  • Perform software installations/upgrades and patch management to existing hardware while adhering to all software licensing best practices. 
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Suggest software and equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary. 
  • Maintaining and deploying OS images to new and existing computers. 
  • Develop and create documentation and procedures for use by the technology department and district users. 
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime. 
  • Provide one-on-one staff development to new and existing users in the use of e-mail, Google Workspace, Skyward Student Information System, network resources, and any specialized software.
  • Promote and practice professional growth and development.
  • Provide superior customer service. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Computer hardware/software troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • A wide variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory in a domain environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Possess outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as software user guides, maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports, interpret problems and write specific detailed trouble reports on work orders. Must be able to speak effectively and give detailed user instructions to administration, staff and students.
  • Ability to independently establish daily work priorities and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain clear and accurate project documentation and records.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team with other technical and professional employees.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

 

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid Washington State Driver’s License
  3. IT technical certificates are preferred.

 

 

 

 

Bus Driver-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Inspect the bus daily before operation.
  2. Submit bus reports as required.
  3. Report any mechanical defects immediately.
  4. Keep the bus clean and refuel as needed.
  5. Drive safely and carefully at all times.
  6. Supervise students while they are passengers on the bus; maintain discipline.
  7. Work cooperatively with other bus drivers and administrators.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS/ CERTIFICATE AND LICENSES:

Employment is based upon the passing of a physician's physical exam.

Must possess or be willing to obtain a Washington State Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with passenger (PSI) and air brake, and School Bus (Class SI) Endorsements and First Aid/CPR Certificate.

 

WORK SCHEDULE: the remainder of the school year 23-24

Computer Technician

8:30 AM-2:30PM

WAGE - $21.37- $24.97

 

Bus Driver

2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

WAGE - $23.21- $27.03

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
MENTAL DEMANDS
Required to deal with a wide range of student, staff, and public behaviors and needs in a positive and service-oriented manner. May occasionally deal with distraught or difficult students or parents.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The amount of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and twisting will vary depending on the age of students and classroom assignments. Physical capabilities also require lifting and carrying (no more than 50 lbs.) pushing and/or pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and significant finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires approximately 35% sitting, 35% walking, and 30% standing. Maintaining good hygiene is essential.
