Property Maintenance Adjunct Faculty

Reporting directly to the Dean Advanced Manufacturing, this part time faculty member will assist students in gaining skills to be competitive applicants for entry level employment as assistants and possibly as technicians for property maintenance at apartment complexes.  Instruct subjects applicable to painting, curb appeal, flooring installation, and drywall, electrical, plumbing and general repairs such as doors, countertops, appliances and windows, included are all aspects of safety/emergency producers/First Aid & CPR and use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as power washers, trash compactors, and leaf blowers. Construction and maintenance terms and vocabulary development are very important.  Work readiness, how to apply for a job and how to appropriately communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and apartment residents are emphasized.   
 
This Part-time position is scheduled to being Spring quarter 2023.  Instruction will take place two nights per week and this position is appropriate for someone who works full time during the day in another position outside of campus.  The 18-credit certificate program is delivered in one or two courses per quarter, over 3 quarters.  No summer classes are currently offered.  A dedicated classroom and lab space are available, as are lab equipment appropriate for training. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as needs arise within each department. Deans will evaluate applications periodically and contact candidates as adjunct positions become available.
