COMPENSATION:
$22.00-$22.00/hour; Substitute hours are paid the month following when the work is completed
OTHER COMPENSATION:
Paid training provided: 32 hours classroom training, 20 hours behind-the-wheel training;
District will cover the cost of testing and required physical;
Cost for fingerprinting covered by the district;
District will reimburse CDL licensing fee

QUALIFICATIONS:
22 years old; Valid Washington State Drivers License with five years experience as a licensed driver; High school diploma or equivalent; WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance; Current first aid/CPR card (training may be provided by District)

NOTE: Application will require three references. You are encouraged to include letters of recommendation.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The substitute school bus driver will fill vacant routes as needed and is directly responsible to the directors of transportation in the operation of school buses and transporting students to and from school.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Know, understand and apply practices of School Bus Driver Handbook published by S.P.I. and Cheney School District Standard Operating Procedure Handbook.
Drive buses on regularly scheduled routes or on field trips or activity trips.
Fuel and clean bus.
Maintain control over passengers as related to safety.
Participate in bus driver training courses established by O.S.P.I.
Must be able to perform Cheney School District pre and post-trip inspections.
Keep supervisor informed as to condition of bus and accidents.
Report any accident or law infraction to director immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 22 years old.
Must possess valid Washington State driver’s license with necessary endorsements.
Must meet physical requirements established by Washington State law.
Must have five years experience as a licensed driver.
Must have and maintain a good driving record.
Must have a high school education or the equivalent.
Must be able to maintain good rapport with students, staff, and the public.
Must be able to work in a team setting.
