Interim Acute Care Finance Manager


Our client, a health care provider, is looking for an Interim Acute Care Finance Manager to support their team in a variety of responsibilities during a time of company growth. 

This opportunity is 100% remote, however, PST working hours are required. This role will have a duration of 3-6 months with possible extension calendar year end. This position will report to the AVP, Finance, FP&A. 


JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Acute Care Finance Manager specializing in Productivity Analysis plays a pivotal role in managing financial operations within the acute care setting. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, healthcare operations, and productivity analysis techniques. The primary responsibility is to optimize financial performance through comprehensive analysis of productivity metrics and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct regular financial assessments to identify areas of improvement and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze revenue streams, expenses, and budget variances to ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Utilize financial models and forecasting tools to project future financial performance and develop actionable strategies.

Productivity Analysis:

  • Implement and manage productivity measurement systems to assess the efficiency of clinical and non-clinical operations.
  • Analyze staffing levels, patient throughput, and resource utilization to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to develop productivity benchmarks and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals.

Budgeting and Planning:

  • Assist in the development of annual operating budgets, incorporating productivity goals and performance targets.
  • Monitor budgetary performance throughout the fiscal year, providing regular updates and recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  • Support department heads in understanding budgetary constraints and implementing strategies to optimize resource allocation.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Collect, organize, and maintain accurate financial and productivity data from various sources.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate financial performance, productivity metrics, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and decision support to executive leadership and department managers as required.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, financial reporting standards, and internal policies.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare reimbursement policies and industry trends affecting financial operations.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare (acute care) finance, with a focus on productivity analysis or workforce management in an acute care setting.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, such as Excel, SQL, and financial modeling software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems, billing processes, and regulatory requirements.
