This role can be HR Manager or Sr HR Generalist depending upon background & experience. Relocation support provided.

Direct report(s): Yes, we have a wonderful HR team member that helps with admin duties, onboarding, off boarding, etc.

Top 3 goals year one: help set development/growth goals for HR and other departments as needed, improve culture, help get the plant staffed.

Payroll system: ADP; you do not have to process payroll.

Moses Lake area: smaller city around 25k people, ample outdoor activities, lakes, hunting, camping, etc. Rural community but city of Spokane about 90 minutes away.

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Manager leads Human Resources practices and objectives for the Moses Lake plant that provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture that emphasizes the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Plans and administers policies relating to all facets of human resources activities. Lead the facility labor relations strategy, programs, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coach and consult with line management/leaders by recommending, initiating, implementing and interpreting policies and processes to ensure that the management of human assets is carried out in a consistent and equitable manner in order to maintain a productive work environment. Oversee facility performance management and corrective action policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for ensuring positive employee relations. Works collaboratively to properly align practices and systems with employee engagement strategies. Must maintain an excellent working knowledge of the employee handbook to safeguard the company's ability to effectively run its operations. Participate in problem resolution, discipline recommendations, and other related activities as required.

  • Administer the selection/staffing process and ensure that hiring and promotional activities are in compliance with Company policy and legal requirements. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Develop and administer local employee orientation.

  • Establish and maintain effective safety and security programs meeting regulatory compliance. Champion safety within the plant environment by making regular safety audits/observations. Provide technical safety expertise to operations management. Ensure that adequate records are maintained. Implement employee training and development initiatives directed toward meeting strategic, compliance, productivity improvement, and employee development goals.

  • Administer salary and benefits processes as needed. Partner with Plant Management to implement and sustain lean manufacturing initiatives and training within the facility. This will require maintaining a presence on the plant floor working with operations employees and management.

  • Plans and executes employee events relevant to benefits, wellness, recognition, training, and community involvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Manager level

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field plus a minimum of five years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience directly managing facility labor relationships, including a lead member of the negotiation team
  • Previous experience as the lead HR partner to the Plant Manager and senior staff

Sr HR Generalist level

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field plus a minimum of four years of Human Resources experience.
