21st Century SHARP Kids Summer Bus Driver

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
FTE: PT (June 26-July 27th, 20 days)
Pay Range: $23.71 - 26.13/hour

Dates and Hours:
June 26th - July 27th
Monday-Thursday, including morning pick up and early afternoon drop off. Complete route to be determined based on enrollment
2 Friday Field trips 8AM - 5:30PM

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required
Responsible for providing safe transportation for students between pick up points and school
Maintain order during trips and adherence to safety rules when loading and unloading students
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must hold a current school bus driver’s authorization issued by the Superintendent of Public Instruction
Must hold a commercial driver’s license appropriate for the size vehicle, including a passenger endorsement and a school bus endorsement (with the air brake restriction removed if driving a bus with air brakes)
Must hold a current and valid first aid card or equivalent which certifies applicant has completed a course in the basic principles of first aid
Maintain and carry a valid Department of Transportation medical examiners certificate
Must be able to lift a maximum of sixty (60) pounds
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for driving a bus on assigned routes in a legal and safe manner
Instruct students and teachers in emergency bus evacuation procedures
Conduct emergency bus evacuation drills
Instruct students in proper bus conduct
Fuel bus as needed
Clean the exterior of bus as needed
Report all bus mechanical deficiencies to the mechanic
Pay is based on the current PSE Bus Driver rate
Must pass a valid Washington State Background Check
