At Weyerhaeuser, our IT team is on a mission to transform the timber industry.  We’re not just in the cloud, we’re implementing technology that will keep us at the forefront of innovation in the forest products industry.  We are looking for a HR Technology Manager who will be responsible for leading our People Systems team. We are a passionate, service-oriented group of dedicated IT professionals, highly focused on delivering valuable solutions to our business partners and are always looking for cutting edge ideas on how to better provide our services.

In this role you will lead a dedicated team of IT professionals in supporting PeopleSoft and other HR applications. It will also give you an opportunity to participate in a multi-year digital transformation of our Human Capital Management technologies.  We are looking for a team player to apply their technical expertise and leadership skills as we move toward modern HR solutions for Weyerhaeuser.    

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads planning, prioritizing and effective execution of HR technology solutions.
  • Leads team of application analysts, developers and engineers that are responsible for HR systems.
  • Maintains HR system and data integrity and ensures adherence to Weyerhaeuser’s technology security standards.
  • Builds an effective and productive working relationship with team members and customers, while effectively implementing HR solutions.  
  • Manages interfaces and integrations between HR systems and other systems and processes.
  • Provides on-going solution support including technical troubleshooting, assistance and sharing knowledge.
  • Participates in the multi-year digital transformation of our Human Capital Management technologies
  • Effectively partners with vendors to document their approach to new solutions, architectural standards, and frameworks.
  • Responsible for operational results, people development, demand planning and budget management
  • Promotes a culture of innovation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive, relevant information technology experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Possesses significant technical skills and has a broad knowledge of how various technologies are integrated.  Experience with HR technologies highly preferred; experience with HR solution implementation preferred.
  • Highly proficient in leading the development, and continuous improvement of technical solution roadmaps.
  • Ability to support a collaborative atmosphere by proactively soliciting input from others and promoting an environment where all team members feel comfortable sharing and discussing their ideas and where the opinions of others are respected.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to all levels of technical and non-technical owners.
  • Outstanding customer service skills including working effectively and collaboratively with all levels of the organization to provide highly effective technical solutions.
  • Displays a commitment to growing technical skills and discovering new and better ways to deliver technical and application solutions.  Proactively mentors’ others in growing technical abilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn Weyerhaeuser’s business model and the underlying business processes, and a deep understanding in multiple functional areas.
  • Skilled in creating and delivering presentations to staff and customers.
