Come be a part of our team as a Teacher's Assistant by supporting Educational Opportunities for Children & Families (EOCF) in realizing a common mission. In this role you will assist the Teacher provide and implement a developmentally appropriate early childhood education experience for children enrolled in Head Start and ECEAP programs.

This benefited position is budgeted for 1800 hours/225 days per year, scheduled to work approximately 40 hours per week.

Required Education: Enrolled in program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree or Enrolled in a child development associate credential program to be completed within two (2) years.

Preferred Education: Certificate of proficiency in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or current CDA certificate.

Experience: One year experience with groups of children 3 to 5 years of age in an early childhood setting.

Knowledge of:
1. Developmentally appropriate practices for 3 to 5 year old children.
2. Principles of child development and Early Childhood Curriculum planning.
3. Safety issues for children and adults.

Ability to:
1. Implement established child development practices, principles and performance standards in a comprehensive classroom environment.
2. Adopt EOCF's commitment to supporting and strengthening children and families.
3. Work cooperatively with staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
4. Prepare and manage records, reports and other documents as required.
5. Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
6. Use the team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.
7. Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.
8. Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.

Bi-lingual highly desired. Training plan considered depending on qualifications.
