Job Description:
Johnsonlink Orthodontics is looking for a passionate and energetic Orthodontic Assistant to join our well-established practice. This position will require travel to our three practice locations.
About the role:
The Orthodontic Assistant is a key member of our clinical team, responsible for providing all aspects of clinical patient care in a professional, efficient, and caring manner. The Orthodontic Assistant is performing a wide range of orthodontic procedures, as well as assists the doctor during appointments, sterilization procedures, and occasional minor lab work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating
- Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers
- Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system
- Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans
- Provide patient instruction/education
- Provide reports to parents/guardians
- Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures
- Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices
- Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor, Clinical Lead, and Practice Manager
Qualifications:
- Dental experience is required, Orthodontic experience is preferred
- Washington State Registered Dental Assistant
- Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
- Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members, and the community
- Keen attention to detail and time management skills
