About the Job

The Museum of Illusion Seattle is looking for an innovative and dynamic sales professional to own and grow our B2B group sales and museum buyouts. Our Sales Managers are responsible for driving revenue and maintaining strong relationships with business decisions makers, understanding the client’s needs and effectively presenting our museum as the solution that meets those needs. They have strong business acumen and an understanding of KPIs and business planning to strategically know how to impact business.

The ideal candidate will have strong outbound sales experience (+5 years) with a contact list of established relationships and historical data showing their previous successes. 

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully identifying and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Make outbound calls to prospective clients such as corporate groups, agencies, tourism organizations, conference planners and other organizations for group visits or event bookings.
  • Introduce the museum’s USP, identify the client’s needs, and provide solutions that meet/exceed these needs.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations or sales pitches, showcasing the museum’s offerings and customizing proposals to meet the needs of prospective clients.
  • Offer customizable options for private events to enhance the visitor experience, including special tours, exclusive access to certain exhibits, or tailored educational sessions. Upsell additional services like catering or special merchandise.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and market competition.
  • Engage with local schools and educational institutions to promote educational visits and workshops, emphasizing the museum's educational value.
  • Coordinate logistics such as setting up spaces, arranging for necessary equipment, and ensuring that operations staff are briefed about the event specifics.
  • Regularly attend local community events, business meetings, and networking events to promote the Museum of Illusions.
  • Form partnerships and affiliate relationships with local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and event planners. This includes negotiating mutually beneficial agreements, such as package deals or cross-promotional opportunities.

Preferred Skills + Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or comparable working experience preferably in a similar industry (such as Entertainment, Hospitality, Tourism, Immersive Experiences).
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Has a professional network of strong contacts within a variety of industries for future revenue opportunities/partnerships with MOI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively with teams based throughout the US and with corporate headquarters.

Compensation

  • $60,000-$80,000 base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunity to earn monthly commissions.
