Job Title : Principal Application Developer – SCALA / AKKA
Location : Seattle, WA
Rate : DOE

Job Description

Summary of Experience

10-15 years of professional industry experience with software development, platform management and operations.
5 years of managing systems of all sizes and complexities, including large systems.
3-5 years of leading or managing small technical teams with operational responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong working knowledge of SOA and Micro Service frameworks
Strong working knowledge of SQL and No-SQL Platforms.
Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning and relevant tooling
Strong working knowledge of Cassandra, Apache Spark, Kafka,
Experience using one of the public cloud (AWS or Azure preferred) for big data applications
Proficiency in shell scripting
Strong working knowledge of Java or Scala
Strong working knowledge of SQL
Solid understanding of data design patterns and best practices
Proficiency in CI/CD tools, Docker etc.
Proficiency in logging and monitoring tools, patterns & implementations
Understanding of enterprise security, REST / SOAP services, best practices around enterprise deployments.
Effective communication skills
Willing to collaborate and team player
Willingness to learn and stay abreast with industry trends
Excel at problem solving and analytical skills
Proven ability and desire to mentor others in a team environment
Experience with agile and DevOps culture
Proven ability and desire to mentor/coach others in a team environment
Provide technical leadership in support of technical tool selection
