Role Statement

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement: Serve existing account customers and assist walk-in, cash, DIY, and homeowners with their project-based needs.
Sales Management: Manage the entire sales process from identifying leads to negotiating deals and closing sales.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with both potential and existing customers, understanding their needs to offer tailored solutions.
Consultation: Advise customers on functional and spatial requirements, providing information on design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and building time.
Sales Processing: Prepare estimates and manage all quotes, purchase orders, tickets, changes, and invoices while adhering to Quote Management Guidelines.
Problem Resolution: Assist with customer service issues such as credits, refunds, returns, and exchanges.
Coordination: Work closely with yard, store, and office personnel to ensure seamless execution of sales orders, delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Special Orders: Handle special orders and assignments as needed.
Credit Support: Collaborate with the credit department to ensure all credit requirements are met.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with customers and team members.
Customer Retention: Maintain the current customer base and increase their engagement with our services.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Location

This role is based in-store and requires on-site presence. Remote work is not available.

Compensation and Benefits

Wages: Starting wages are based on years of experience and education, ranging from $16.65 to $27.40 per hour.

Requirements

Minimum education of High School or equivalent.
1-2 years of sales experience, preferably in the building industry or construction environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Good understanding of the contractor sales process.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Point of Sale Programs.

Physical Requirements

This role is primarily sedentary but may involve some filing and physical activities.
Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and occasionally bend or stand on a stool.
Capable of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
May require exerting up to 80 pounds of force rarely.
