A DAY IN THE LIFE!

Daily, you will collaborate closely with a senior technician to ensure that drivers' trucks and trailers stay up and running with minimal downtime. Focusing on preventative maintenance and driver-reported issues, you will work with your team to prioritize. Each week, you will participate in the re-seat process, ensuring that the new drivers' trucks are serviced, repaired, and inspected.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and tractor-trailers including oil changes, lubrication services, filter services, and other preventative maintenance.
  • Corrective maintenance on heavy equipment including body panel replacement, electrical failures, brake replacements, power steering issues, and much more!
  • Inspect, test, and perform maintenance of the auxiliary power unit (APU).
  • Install on-board electronics including driver safety equipment, electronic logging device (ELD), and other electronics per truck need.
  • Diagnosis of equipment issues through inspections and diagnostic software.
  • How to inspect equipment to ensure a DOT-compliant fleet, ensuring safety as a number one priority.
  • Professional skills such as prioritization, documentation, and communication skills.

YOUR SKILLSET

  • A strong desire to learn and grow through hands-on work. 
  • Excellent listening and communication skills for communication with mentors, peers, and drivers.
  • The ability to work on a team in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines. 
  • Prior experience in computer programs with the ability to learn new software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A basic understanding of hand and power tools.
  • Employment is contingent upon completion of the SPD employment processing (including a background check).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience with diesel, automotive, or small engines.

SALARY AND SCHEDULE

  • Salary: $20 - $22 per hour, decided based on experience.
  • Schedule: Full-time on-site; Monday - Friday; 07:00 – 15:30.
