Echo Technician: This 1.0FTE/Full-time position is scheduled to work 10-HR day shifts and is UFCW represented.
Compensation: Non-exempt, $39.82/HR-$62.45/HR

Job Summary:
Produces images of heart muscle and functioning by setting-up ultrasound equipment; attaching electrodes to chest and equipment; operating and adjusting equipment; recording cardiac data and measurements; protecting and helping patients and communicating with the cardiologist when needed.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares for examinations by checking equipment and inventorying and restocking supplies; reviewing patient schedules; reading physician orders for specific examinations; setting-up recording equipment; entering patient information into system.Prepares patients by positioning patient; spreading gels; attaching electrodes to chest and equipment; adjusting equipment controls; verifying wave signals.Obtains quality images by positioning and repositioning transducer; monitoring display screen; listening to signals; adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus; detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities; recording images.Records examination information by printing graphics and data; calculating measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity; comparing measurements to norms.Protects patients by adhering to safety policies and protocols.Have an understanding of and follow the HIPPAA standards.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalentAA degree from associated Ultra sonographer or Echocardiography program
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.Current active status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Current BasicCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.Must obtain certification within two years of employment in this position by 1 or both of the following governing bodies:• Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
