We are hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake, WA.
 
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will provide Occupational Therapy and treatment services to people with severe or long-term behavioral health conditions. You'll get a reliable 40 hours a week, great benefits and the opportunity to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to plan and provide evidence-based treatment.
 
Some of what you'll do

  • Perform treatment for patients with complex problems and encourage patients' independence in activities of daily living
  • Fabricate and adapt complex orthotic assistive equipment as directed
  • Assist in evaluation and assessment of patient's potential to return to independent living by conducting visits to home and work sites
  • Inventory and order supplies
  • Orient and instruct new occupational therapy assistants, students, student helpers and volunteers
  • Maintain supplies and therapeutic equipment in a clean, safe working environment
  • Perform clerical duties
Who should apply
  • A graduate of an approved educational program for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
  • Successful completion of the NBCOT COTA Occupational Therapy Assistant certification examination
  • Current Washington State license, or license eligible to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Eighteen months experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant 1 or equivalent
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for the above qualifications, except for legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
 
Desired
  • Ability to assess, plan, provide, and analyze programs and treatments under the direction of an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience developing and conducting psychosocial educational groups
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Ability to adhere to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics, best practices, and hospital standards of care
