Wage Range: $31.48 - $50.38 per hour

Remote in Washington State only

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing diagnostic and procedural coding for all patient types using ICD-9(10) and CPT (PCS) codes using a computerized coding application. Supports external and internal coding review activities and assists business department with coding and reimbursement issues. Acts as a liaison to medical staff and other hospital and clinic staff in the interpretation of their documentation as it relates to coding, ensuring documentation meets coding guidelines and the standards of ethical coding.
Responsible for providing validation and education of coding and documentation, review clinical documentation to ensure appropriate selection of evaluation and management code as well as appropriate sequencing of diagnostic codes.

Primary Duties:
1. Works with providers and other departments such as Care Management, PFS, and Quality to identify documentation opportunities and resolve coding questions.
2. Performs coding validation reviews for coding quality, accuracy and compliance.
3. Provides written instructions for providers and other departments such as Care Management, PFS, and Quality related to documentation and coding guidelines.
4. Provides ongoing training and educational programs for providers and other departments such as as Care Management, PFS, and Quality.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:
● CPC, CCS-P, Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
● Experience in CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding and documentation in inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary account settings.

DESIRED for the position:
● 5 years coding experience working in an acute care setting
● COBGC, Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Coder
