Job Description
This is an application for heathers, vines, ground covers, perennials, and ornamental grasses. Work duties include preparing soil and growth media, cultivating and otherwise participating in horticultural activities on acreage, in a nursery or in environmentally controlled structures such as a greenhouse or shed. Employees must have transportation to the job site. This is a job description for field grown production, harvest, culture and care of nursery gro products. You’ll typically be exposed to Dust, Dirt, Heat, Cold, Fumes, Noise, Vibration and water. Physically expect to be Lifting, Pulling, Reaching, Manipulating/Grasping, Carrying, Pushing, Shoveling, Bending, Twisting, Climbing and Squatting. All tasks in this job description constitute one job; the employer may assign workers to different tasks on any day or to multiple tasks during the same day. Employees must perform the assigned work, and may not perform duties not included herein or work in areas not assigned without the specific authorization of the manager or supervisor. There are general conditions of employment, general job specifications and individual requirement that are specific to each job duty:
1.Worker will perform any combination of the following duties concerned with preparing soil and growth media, cultivating and otherwise participating in horticultural activities under close supervision on acreage, in nursery or in environmentally controlled structure such as greenhouse and shed: 2.Hauls and spreads topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition land; digs, rakes and screens soil, and fills cold frames and hot beds to prepare them for planting; fills growing t with water; plants, sprays, weeds and waters plants, shrubs and trees. 3.Sows grass seed and plants plugs of sod and cuts, rolls, and stacks sod. 4.Traps and poisons pests such as moles, gophers, mice, etc. Plants shrubs and plants in containers. 5.Ties, bunches, wraps and packs flowers, plants, shrubs and trees to fill orders 6.Moves containerized shrubs and trees using wheelbarrow; digs up shrubs and trees and wraps their roots with burlap. •May dip rose cuttings into vat disinfect cuttings prior to storage. •May fold and staple corrugated forms to make boxes used for packing horticultural products. •May be designated according to employing establishment as grass-farm laborer (agriculture); green house laborer (agriculture); nursery laborer (agriculture); rose-farm laborer (agriculture), etc. Job Specifications Include: 1.Caring for trees in the nursery; 2.Work in nursery environment performing various job duties such as planting, potting, watering (by hose or carrying buckets), and filling up flats 3.Care for plants during the growing process (hoeing/tilling/watering); 4.Load/unload sod/growing materials onto/from the truck; 5.Transport trees and shrubs weighing up to 70 pounds; 6.Worker will assist in planting and/or harvesting ornamental trees intended for wholesale market; and, 7.Weeding, cleaning, and pruning trees. Workers may be required to perform other work, such as weeding, hoeing, cleaning and repairing farm buildings, installation, setting up and moving irrigation pipes and equipment, gardening, and weeding. Preparing barns, draining fields, preparing land for planting, dropping sticks in the fields maintenance of tools and equipment and other work that is directly related.

Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.

- Addendum B. Inbound and Outbound --In accordance with departmental Regulations at 20 CFR § 655.122(h)(1) & (2):
(1) Transportation to place of employment. If the employer has not previously advanced
such transportation and subsistence costs to the worker or otherwise provided such transportation or subsistence directly to the worker by other means and if the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer must pay the worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment. When it is the prevailing practice of non- H-2A agricultural employers in the occupation in the area to do so, or when the employer extends such benefits to similarly situated H-2A workers, the employer must advance the required transportation and subsistence costs (or otherwise provide them) to workers in corresponding employment who are traveling to the employer's worksite. The amount of the transportation payment must be no less (and is not required to be more) than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved. The amount of the daily subsistence payment must be at least as much as the employer would charge the worker for providing the worker with three meals a day during employment (if applicable), but in no event less than the amount permitted under § 655.173(a). Note that the FLSA applies independently of the H-2A requirements and
imposes obligations on employers regarding payment of wages.
(2) Transportation from the place of employment. If the employer has not previously advanced such transportation and subsistence costs to the worker or otherwise provided such transportation or subsistence directly to the worker by other means and if the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer must pay the worker for reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment. Housing is provided at no cost to workers.
Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking facilities so workers can prepare their own meals. There is a kitchen in the house. All necessary cooking needs are in the house, such as pots, pans, dishes, cups, and silverware. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, the employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, the employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the minimum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services, medical).
