Duties:
The Infection Control & Employee Health Nurse Coordinator provides advanced professional and clinical leadership on infection control and prevention matters for Willapa Harbor Hospital and associated clinics.
This position is responsible for the management of infectious disease identification, surveillance prevention, control, investigation, consultation, research, education, and development and review of related policies and procedures. Additionally, this position directs the hospital and associated clinics to comply with related local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations. This role is an integrated function of the organization-wide quality and patient safety program.
The Infection Control & Employee Health Nurse Coordinator endeavors to promote health and safety to all employees by facilitating the Employee Health Program. This includes employee disease detection, prevention, and treatment: conducting employee health screenings; and promoting a safe work environment.
The Infection Control & Employee Health Nurse Coordinator coordinates with our community health partners to provide health and wellness education for civic groups, public and private school systems and contracted community businesses.
The Infection Control & Employee Health Nurse Coordinator also assists Human Resources with annual employee required learning and required training for certifications, including but not limited to Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Trauma Nurse Core Course.
Education requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Occupational Health Nurse certification preferred. Qualified candidates without certification would be expected to obtain certification within 3 years of hire to position.
Call requirements: This position will include on-call responsibility, including weekends.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Currently licensed in Washington State.
Minimum three years’ experience in medical/surgical nursing
Certificate of Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, inc., preferred but required within 3 years of accepting position.
Employee Health or Occupational Health experience preferred
Excellent assessment, communication, computer and organization skills.
