Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician
Humane Society of Skagit Valley is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing affordable spay and neuter services to the community. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team.
Position Summary:
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and compassionate delivery of surgical services. You will work closely with our veterinary team to ensure the well-being of animals and the smooth operation of our clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for setting the pace for daily scheduled surgeries
- Prepare surgical suites and instruments for procedures.
- Assist the veterinarian during surgeries, including monitoring anesthesia, administering medications, and providing technical support.
- Maintain a sterile surgical environment.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to animals, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing comfort.
- Assist with patient intake and discharge.
- Maintain accurate records of drug inventory and usage.
- Perform regular drug reconciliations to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the clinic to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic.
Qualifications:
- Valid Veterinary Technician license.
- Proven experience in veterinary medicine, particularly in a surgical setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and empathetic towards animals.
- A strong belief in the welfare and humane treatment of all animals and HSSV mission, philosophy including the need for euthanasia, scope of services and activities;
- Ability to keep information confidential.
