PitchBook is looking for a Data Analyst Summer Intern to assist Data Analyst team members in delivering high quality data analysis to internal and external stakeholders. PitchBook's Data Analyst team works with private markets transaction data to develop meaningful insights into a fascinating industry and power our industry leading private equity, M&A, venture capital, and emerging technology research. This internship will give you hands-on experience in leveraging your analysis skills to interpret client data requests and deliver packaged analytics used by some of the largest private capital investors, investment banks, and service providers globally. Our team utilizes technical data analysis skills in conjunction with deep financial and private capital markets industry knowledge to deliver the most accurate and digestible information to our clients. Our Summer Internship is full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June 16th - August 22nd 2025 (specific dates vary by office location). Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Utilize Microsoft Excel, SQL, and other programming language skills to provide high-quality data analysis and support to clients, internal stakeholders, and select media outlets
Work with research analysts to identify unique data points to support research, while also identifying unique tables and graphs to clearly illustrate that information
Manage and complete time-sensitive custom research requests for clients
Contribute to and provide data support to broader editorial teams as they develop content for blog posts, data-graphics, and newsletter stories
Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Business, Economics, Finance, and related majors preferred
To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
Critical thinker and detailed oriented/analytical mindset
Strong communication skills
Understanding of financial concepts such as valuation techniques (Discounted Cash Flow, comps, etc.), Internal Rate of Return, asset allocations, and more
Strong excel proficiency and experience in SQL and/or Python is a plus
Strong interest in M&A and private financial markets is a plus
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation
Annual hourly rate: $22/hour
Working Conditions:
We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3 days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
