General Description: |
The Energy Services Program Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and management of energy efficiency programs at the Sustainable Living Center. This role involves managing contract deliverables, invoicing, overseeing budget spenddown, working with the bookkeeper to manage cash flows, overseeing staff, contractor and stakeholder communications, and ensuring positive outcomes for all aspects of program delivery. The Program Manager will also identify and cultivate funding sources - writing proposals and grants as applicable, and nurturing relationships with utilities and other partners and potential collaborators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy management, excellent project management skills, and a passion for sustainability. |
Key Responsibilities: |
- Develop, implement, and manage energy efficiency programs.
- Manage contract/grant budgets, timelines, reporting and deliverables.
- Coordinate and collaborate with utilities, stakeholders and community partners.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Advocate for energy policies and initiatives that support the organization’s mission.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities to support program funding.
- Write and submit grant proposals.
- Conduct energy audits and assessments.
- Provide technical assistance and support to program participants.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance and impact.
- Direct, train, and oversee program staff.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy Management, Business or a related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for a formal degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management or a related field.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, building mechanics, and energy systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passion for sustainability and community development.
- Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

General Physical/Mental Requirements |
- Mobility: Climbing and descending stairs, bending and crawling, pushing, dragging, and carrying materials and/or equipment, sitting for moderate periods, driving. Lifting equipment in and out of homes/vehicles (up to 50#)
- Concentration: Situations encountered may be unclear and require clarification and analysis.
- Judgment/Temperament: Enthusiasm for work, tact and diplomacy when working with homeowners.
- Professionalism: Maintain a helpful and professional demeanor when working with customers, colleagues, business partners and in the community while conducting SLC business and while representing the SLC.
