Job Title: General Accountant

Reports To: Controller
The Seattle Airport Marriott is looking to hire a full time General Accountant.
Rate: $22.05-23.60/hr Dependent on Experience
Purpose of the Accounting position: To ensure that accounting functions are completed in a timely manner and according to established policies. Most of the time spent in this position will be in Accounts Payable - Processing payments of hotel bills after verifying that all documents are accurate as to items, price, extensions and proper receiving and approval by the department heads. Other functions will include Accounts Receivable, daily reconciliations, and guest billing inquiries. This is an entry level position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Match receiving records, purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices for proper gl coding and approvals.
* Verify room, food, beverage, and audio-visual charges on group master accounts. Prepare invoice and invoice client.
Follow up within two weeks on outstanding invoice.
* Answer inquiries from guests and groups regarding billing.
* Respond and follow up on special requests from guests/residents with unique needs.
* Comply with company, brand, and owner quality assurance and audit compliance expectations and standards.
* Assist in any other tasks as required by management.

* Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor
* Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies,
natural disasters).
* Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
* Aid individuals with disabilities, including assisting visually, hearing, or physically impaired I
individuals within guidelines (e.g., escorting them when requested, using words to explain actions, writing directions

Required Experience:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
* High School Diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement. Some college preferred
* Six months to one-year related experience and/or training
* Or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
* Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages.
* Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts
REASONING ABILITY
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
