Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms nationally with our staffing services for 65 years. Our international aerospace avionics client has an opening for an Electrical Engineer in their Kirkland, WA plant . The salary range is $110K - $154K. This is a product support position.
This division is the industry leader for reliable aircraft and avionics data interface solutions.
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will address and resolve manufacturing and field related problems, be responsible for cost, product and maintenance improvements, address component sourcing and obsolescence, and conduct qualification and verification testing associated with design changes. You will play a critical role in ensuring the continued performance, reliability, and quality of our electrical products.
The qualified candidate will develop a collaborative relationship with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, software, and test engineers, technicians, program management, manufacturing, and supply chain to achieve success. The intent is to learn from the technical guidance, mentorship, and peer reviews of more senior staff and be able to share knowledge and best practices with junior staff members and interns.
Duties:
Product Sustaining
Team focal for product sustaining projects including obsolescence mitigation and market-driven modification
Collaborate with Engineering teams to incorporate design changes into existing products
Document product designs and changes by preparing bills of material, drawings, and associated change orders
Operations Support
Provide timely analysis of production tests failures, identifying root cause and driving corrective actions with appropriate departments
Support manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality, and supply chain functions for new and existing product
Assist in the transition of new products from Engineering to Operations
Customer Support
Investigate and resolve complex hardware issues reported by customers
When required, perform testing, evaluations and analysis of RMA returns to maintain customers' satisfaction
Product Improvements
Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining or improving product performance and quality
Work with suppliers to select cost-effective components and materials
Project Support
Contribute to New Product Development Programs as necessary, including part numbering strategies, electrical design, V&V, certification, and transition to operations
Manage individual projects and special engineering requests throughout the development cycle
Product Compliance
Ensure that product designs and modifications comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
May lead product qualification and agency compliance test programs
May interface with regulatory agencies and test agencies
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
BSEE or similar degree
Min 5 years of experience, including:
High Speed Circuit Design, including Best Practices and Thermal Consideration
Component Analysis / Datasheet Understanding
Schematic Analysis in DxDesigner, LTSpice, or equivalent
PCB Analysis in PADS or equivalent
Digital & Analog Circuit Troubleshooting
Programming in a Windows and Linux environment
Programming in C and/or C++
Tools: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, DC Power Supplies
Interpreting Industry Standards
This is a U.S. ITAR compliant facility - U.S. Persons required
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
PCI, PCIe, PXIe, and USB experience
Experience with Avionics Databuses/Designs
Thermal Imaging, Spectrum Analyzer experience
FPGA code analysis in Verilog or equivalent
Programming in scripting languages
Testing to DO-160 and Military Standards
