Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Manager of Data Science and Business Intelligence to lead a horizontal team of Data Scientists, Data Analysts and a Technical Program Manager. You will be the essential cog in the wheel and support the entire Bl, BI-Ops and Data platform team by partnering with the org in supporting strategic Data Science, Bl and Data platform initiatives. In this role, you will seek to provide scale to our existing Bl & BI-Ops operations by managing a horizontal team of analytics professionals sitting in a remote location, in India. As part of your role, you will liaise with our data platform team and provide technical program management support on horizontal data initiatives by developing business specifications for engineers, data governance, and advocating broader data literacy.

You Will:
Lead a remote team (Data analysts and data scientists) to enable data-driven discovery, data self-serve and data insights through Machine Learning for strategic priorities of Smartsheet
Understand Smartsheet's business model, identify opportunities & drive impact through analytics & machine learning,
Work at the intersection of business, Bl, and the data platform team to ensure support for all Machine Learning initiatives across the lifecycle, from inception and conception, to development and production
Lead strategic analytics initiatives and present insights to senior leaders and stakeholders to drive actions and impact
Be an evangelist for all our data assets and promote data literacy and advocacy across the organization
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure their questions & needs are addressed to ensure adoption of the solutions we build
Work alongside the Data Platform team and provide technical program management functions to support multiple horizontal initiatives to include; compliance, data governance, prioritization & business specifications for ingestion process, building Machine Learning pipelines, and optimizing systems costs
Develop cross-team relationships with other Bl and Data Platform leaders to ensure we are meeting existing and future analytics needs
Potential to hire, develop and coach a team of talented data, Bl and analytics professionals
Support other duties as needed
You Have:
6-8 years related experience in data science, business intelligence and analytics experience
3+ years previous management experience, especially in managing a remote team located outside of the US
Critical thinking with analytical & solutioning skills; strong sense for business success
Excellent problem structuring, identification and resolution skills
Hands-on experience in statistics, machine learning languages (e.g., Python), Bl tools (e.g., Tableau) and SQL
Ability to synthesize complex issues into easy to understand concepts and structuring executive presentations
Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries
BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Research, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. California & New York: $145,800-$210,600. All other US States: $135,000-$195,000
