SCOPE OF POSITION:
Assist with the transportation of campers to and from Camp Gifford. Provide general supervision, ensuring the physical and emotional safety of the campers. Take accountability and ensure all the appropriate children are on the bus. Take possession of all paperwork, medication, and money while in transport. Make sure pickup and drop-off of campers as per directions of the Camp and local leadership.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with children preferred
High school graduate or equivalent
At least 18 years old
Manage, engage, and control groups of children ages 7-17
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Good communication skills
Be able to pass a child safety background check
Detail oriented and well organized
Knowledge of child/personnel safety, planning, problem solving, and crisis intervention
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet bus at Bus Depot or agreed upon location
Transition the campers onto the bus, including meeting the campers in a friendly way
Maintain accountability and ensure all the appropriate children are on the bus
Take possession of all paperwork, medications, and money from local coordinators
Manage and control campers while in transit
Ensure the campers are physically and emotionally safe
Beware of bullying, name calling, and any inappropriate behavior or speech
Enforce camp policies and procedures
Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times
Ensure compliance with standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
Grasp, push, pull objects, and reach overhead
Operate a telephone and computer
Lift up to 25 lbs.
Understand verbal and written information
Sweep, clean, and perform other janitorial tasks as needed

Once a conditional offer has been made and then accepted by the applicant, The Salvation Army may then ask specific questions about vaccination status, if applicable. If the applicant requests an exemption, then processes described in this summary should be followed.

Parental Leave: The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.
Sick Leave: 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months' service time.
Paid Vacation:
Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions.
Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions.
Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months' service time.
Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
