JOB TITLE: Lead Teacher/Advocate
Position is full-time, 40 hrs. per week
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for planning and implementing an individualized, developmentally appropriate educational program for children and ensuring the delivery of holistic, integrated services to children and their families.
Essential Functions:
- Plans and implements an individualized, developmentally appropriate educational program for one classroom of children.
- Maintains an adequate social services referral system for coordinating the resolution of family needs and goals to promote family strengthening.
- Assists with parent education and support program for all assigned families.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate sound decision making.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
- Good interpersonal skills essential.
- Functional computer skills.
- Sensitive to the needs of young children; willing and able to relate to children and adults from all ethnic, racial, religious, or socioeconomic backgrounds.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred or a waiver may be requested if an applicant has a current preschool CDA credential or a state awarded certificate for center-based preschool teacher that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA, and applicant must commit to obtaining an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Hiring is contingent on approval of the waiver or;
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or,
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Early Childhood Education with a minimum of 30 college credits in Early Childhood Education; and
- A Lead Teacher/Advocate hired after November 7, 2016, must have within 18 months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification of social work, human services, counseling, or related field; and
- One year of professional experience teaching preschool children.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, provide proof of current liability automobile insurance, maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record (insurable by the Agency’s insurance carrier), and ability to provide own reliable transportation.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Hourly Pay Range: $22.71- $28.39 per/hr.
- 10 Paid Holidays per program year
