POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY: |

We are seeking a highly motivated student that is excited to have an opportunity to be mentored by our top-notch Customer Engineering team for our Summer 2024 Student Worker - Customer Engineering Internship.
The primary purpose of this position is to introduce the student worker to electrical utility customer engineering work prior to the student’s final year of studies in their Engineering Technology program. Working with Engineering and Distribution Design Technicians, the student will have a paid opportunity to learn about these positions and to work on projects. The student will have exposure to mapping, drafting and facilities management using the District's GIS system and AutoCAD drawings.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 2 - 3 months over the Summer. There are limited benefits available with this position. Time off will be allowed with approval for various summer activities. |
ACCOUNTABILITIES: |
- Support the District’s mission to serve our customers and foster a positive workplace by personally choosing behavior aligned with our values and ethical code.
- Learn about the accuracy of District maps with respect to property, customer data, electrical and broadband facilities and equipment.
- Learn how to complete records of work orders, permits, property, and easements.
- Learn about running pre-defined queries and producing comprehensive map products using GIS applications.
- Complete other duties as assigned to meet team, department and organizational goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS: |
- High School Diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled in a college Engineering Technology degree program
- General PC literacy, with a familiarity of Windows and Microsoft Office programs
- Good interpersonal skills
