Position Summary: | To assist in the daily care, personal needs and treatment of each patient as an individual. Identifying their spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs. |
Essential Job Duties: | The Certified Nursing Assistant assists in admission, Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. Takes vital signs as appropriate and charts on the medical records. Attends to hygiene/comfort needs of the patients. Attentive to the psychological needs of the patient and spends time listening. Is always courteous and maintains patient confidentiality. Provides nourishment as ordered for patients. Collects specimens from patients as ordered as appropriate and label accordingly. Records work performed on NAC Report and appropriate patient observations in the medical record. Informs appropriate personnel of his/her observations of patients and promptly reports any changes in patient status. Performs a variety of patient care services adhering to hospital policy and procedures. Other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by supervising personnel. Participation in “side work” activities. (i.e.: cleaning discharge beds, re-supply ice cart, linen cart etc.). Document patient care according to standards and policies. Participate in and support orientation of personnel and all available in-services. Other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by supervising personnel. |
Qualifications: | Requirements: Must have successful completion of accredited Nursing Assistance Certification program and hold current Nurse’s Aide licensure in the State of Washington or be eligible to take the state licensure exam. If exam eligible, employee must successfully complete and pass the state exam within 6 months of employment. Familiar with medical field and medical terminology. Good communication and organizational skills. Candidate must have a calm, professional demeanor with excellent customer services skills. Must have current BLS certification. CPSI experience preferred, but will train. Preferred Skills: Maintain a sense of personal satisfaction and assume responsibility for maintaining optimal Nursing practice. Possess physical strength, mental faculty, emotional fortitude, judgment, decision-making and interpersonal skills required to care for the needs of multiple patients as part of the health care team. Free of conditions that could prevent delivery of safe patient care. |
