DESCRIPTION: Edmonds College is seeking an Early Childhood Education Tenure Track Faculty member. The Our Colleges, Our Future Act of 2021 is intended to guarantee both equitable access and educational success for all, particularly for students from communities of color and low-income communities.
As an Early Childhood Education Faculty Member you will be responsible for providing leadership in a variety of early childhood and family support initiatives and teaching a variety of early childhood courses. In this role you will be responsible for developing inclusive & equitable curriculum, preparing teaching materials, developing and assessing learning outcomes to evaluate student work, assigning grades, maintaining required records, academic advising and consulting with students. Other responsibilities may include participation in: achievement of the college’s mission and goals; upholding the college’s values; the governance of the college via department and division work; committee assignments; required professional development and college in-service activities (including employee orientation and college compliance trainings); personal and program evaluation and advisory committee work, and serving as department head. The teaching assignment may include morning field practicum visits,late-afternoon,evening or onlineclasses. This is a tenure-track position that reports to the Dean of Health and Human Services (HHS).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Human Services, OR a closely related field conferred prior to the start of employment.
- Possess recent experience in working with children, youth or family systems in professional or community settings with emphasis on individuals and groups from historically marginalized backgrounds.
- Evidence of or potential for successful college-level teaching experience in early childhood education or a related field like human services or family support subject areas with students from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of preparation.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a classroom and office and requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty are required to frequently use a computer and other technology in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The salary will be based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education and related experience. The current range is $81,219 - $82,551 annually for a 172-day appointment with progressive increases to $98,518.56 annually. The college provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
