Summary:
This Student Research Assistant position will support a large health records study funded by the Department of Defense that is evaluating whether a new self-management/cognitive rehabilitation psychotherapy intervention leads to improved outcomes for Veterans with a history of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). The Student Research Assistant will assist the research team with a variety of study activities as described below.
The position involves telework as well as some time on site at the University of Washington and/or the Seattle Division of VA Puget Sound. The Student Research Assistant will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Project Manager, and Research Coordinator. This position requires an individual who understands the basic principles of clinical research and has a broad range of skills to assist with study operations. The candidate must possess strong organization and interpersonal skills. A high school degree is required, with level coursework in psychology, research methods, and/or data analysis strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for research activities including collection of data from medical record, data entry, and basic data analysis
Verify accuracy of research study data using Excel, Access, or similar programs
Assist with preparation of reports for funding agency and regulatory bodies
Assist with data cleaning and discrepancy resolution
Manage EndNote (or comparable) database for publications
Literature review
Position Requirements:
High school degree or higher
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience using Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Access.
Knowledge and Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working in a related area
Experience using a reference manager
