PACCAR's Information Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA, utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
About the Team
As a Systems Administrator Intern, you will work with the Open Systems Administration Team. The Open Systems Administration Team focuses on solving providing technology solutions to PACCAR. As part of a diversified global Fortune 500 company, the Open Systems Administration Team works on a huge variety of projects: from infrastructure as code, cloud migration, and disaster recovery planning. The Role
This position is responsible for the monitoring, proactive management and recovery of PACCAR computing systems, network, and applications to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements. An IT Systems Administrator designs solutions, administers, maintains, and optimizes servers and plays a critical role on a global team that is responsible for ensuring the health and availability of PACCAR's business critical applications.
Job Responsibilities & Projects
Assist with the Server Hardware Refresh Project
Keeping systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades and repairs
Analyzing and figuring out the system needs of departments
Optimizing and evaluating the system regularly
Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware
Identifying and automating maintenance routines
Required Experience & Skills
2+ years hands-on IT technical experience or equivalent education
Ability to work under pressure and multitask within a fast-paced environment
Communicate clearly with team members, technical support groups, and management
Able to perform advanced troubleshooting techniques and recovery procedures on Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 using a variety of server administration tools
Functional knowledge IT Infrastructure components - storage, network, structured cabling
Operational knowledge of applications: WUG, SCOM, SCCM, vSphere, NetBackup
Education (List required and/or preferred education)
In progress of attaining an Undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science or related field desired
