Facilities Technician
Provides skilled maintenance to equipment and facilities including but not limited to HVAC, Lighting, Mechanical Doors, Electronic locks, Plumbing Components, Wall Repair, Furniture Installs, and general facility repairs.
Responsibilities:
Receives, performs, and completes maintenance, repair, installation, and assembly work orders within allowable time frames.
Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on facilities systems.
Diagnoses problems affecting acceptable operation of facility equipment. Develops sequenced course of action for repair.
Disassembles, adjusts, repairs, or replaces components, then reassembles facilities systems process equipment, machinery, tools, and. Participates or conducts tests to assure proper operating characteristics and ability.
Performs regular inspections of facility equipment and machinery according to operating manuals and standard maintenance procedures to assure operating efficiency and identify potential problem areas. Documents inspection activities and establishes schedules for review of potential problems.
Performs all inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair activities in compliance with standard maintenance procedures, operating manuals, manufacturers specifications, drawings and diagrams, and federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
Participates in preventative maintenance and total preventative maintenance activities as directed. Participates with other work teams to identify, define, and establish process stability and improvement.
Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Assures that all tools are accounted and cared for and can be used safely.
Regularly communicates problems and improvement opportunities to immediate supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Qualifications
Requires a working knowledge of the purpose and operations of building electrical systems, HVAC systems, Plumbing systems, and other associated facility devices. Requires skill at diagnosing systems with automated controls, troubleshooting, and solving mechanical problems. Requires a basic knowledge of TPM processes and the principles and practices of lean manufacturing. Requires sufficient human relations skills to convey technical concepts to others and maintain harmony with team members and customers. Requires basic skills in using common personal computer-based business programs.
Abilities
Requires the ability to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Requires the ability to perform a full range of maintenance activity on machinery, tools, and facilities systems. Requires the ability to diagnose maintenance problems and establish corrective courses of action. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions, maintain complete records and interpret plans, diagrams, operating manuals, and specifications. Ability to establish a sequenced maintenance plan. Ability to read precision instruments and perform mathematical calculations. Requires the ability to observe and follow all safety rules and regulations. Requires the demonstrated ability to operate a variety of machinery, and tools.
Education and Experience
Requires a high school diploma plus either a formal apprenticeship program or higher education in industrial technology, and three or more years of experience in the facilities maintenance. Additional experience may substitute for formal training.
Physical:
Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crawl on a continuous basis; up to 10 hours a day.
Requires the ability to lift, pull, push and guide medium weigh objects (20-40 pounds) on a continuous basis.
Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment and make precise measurements.
Requires visual acuity to observe moving objects and events, select, and place materials. Requires auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and hear instructions
Working Conditions:
Work is performed a manufacturing environment where significant safety considerations exist from use of dangerous equipment, proximity to moving objects, full-body physical labor and handling of medium-to-heavy weight materials. Required equipment for all operations includes but not limited to: steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
Total Base Pay Range
$19.23-$28.85 USD Hourly
