Division Information
PACCAR's Information Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA, utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
The Role
As a software developer intern, you will get the opportunity to learn about various aspects of our trucks and how they correlate to the work that our team does. You will get to see the development work that we do in support of our future truck launches and the production support as issues surface. You will get exposure to Agile Methodology for software development, internal customer interviews, and developing tools based on their needs!
About the Team
As a software developer, you will get to be part of a team that focuses on vehicle software delivery for our PACCAR Trucks! We develop and maintain our applications that enable telematics, over-the-air software updates and our service tool solutions that programs software on our PACCAR vehicles. This role also gets the opportunity to work with our other PACCAR divisions to understand, design and implement features for the manufacturing environment where we build trucks as well as solutions that aid our aftermarket trucks. Job Responsibilities & Projects
* Learn about our ITD team
* Learn about Vehicle Software Development in our contribution to PACCAR trucks
* Learn about Agile Methodology that enables software development which includes backlogs, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, etc).
* Work with a mentor to develop time-boxed project
Required Experience & Skills
* 2+ years of hands-on IT technical experience
* Ability to work under pressure and multitask within a fast-paced environment
* Communicate clearly with team members, technical support groups, and management
* Strong understanding of OOO, SOA concepts and SOLID Design Principles
* Working knowledge around secure web development (Web Applications, Web API, Web Services)
* Programming experience:
* ASP.NET
* C#
* JavaScript
* JSON, XML
* ReSTful web services
* WCF
* SQL/TSQL - SQL Serve
Education
Undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science or related field desired in progress or recently completed.
