A Human Resources & Recruiting Coordinator Intern for our 2024 Summer Internship Program! This is an entry-level position in our Human Resources & Talent Acquisition department. In this internship, under direct supervision of a manager and department professionals, you will learn the fundamentals of different functions of a HR department including employment law, and recruiting, exposing them to the daily routines and procedures of the department. Additionally, you will gain a foundational understanding the skills and competencies that are essential for individual and organizational success, as well as be provided learning opportunities to better understand the Credit Union's business operations and composition.

As a Human Resources & Recruiting Coordinator Intern you will...
Provide high priority to member satisfaction; act in accordance with Sound Credit Union's Brand expectations.
Respond to frequently asked questions from employees related to standard policies, HRIS system, benefits, leave laws, etc.; refer more complex questions to senior-level HR team members or management.
Assist in the preparation of job descriptions and salary analysis.
Assist in the hiring process to include positing open jobs, observing phone screens and interviews, flagging candidates, conducting credit checks, reference checks, background checks, and creating offer letters.
Participate in job fairs and community events, as scheduled.
Assist in the management of the Digital Workplace. This includes but is not limited to managing user roles, managing content workflows to ensure consistent formatting, template usage, etc.
Assist in document collection and storage of HR related documents with an HRIS including but not limited to, job descriptions, employee checklists, candidate interview notes, and recruiting documents.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Actively participate in meetings and training programs as required.
Maintain intra/interdepartmental workflow by providing information to and cooperating with teammates and working on variety of special department projects as needed.
Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, instant messages, and aid as necessary.
Perform clerical duties, maintain files (paper or electric), and organize documents (paper or electric); scan, photocopy, fax, etc. as needed.
Create and organize department documents and reports, as requested
Meet regularly with Manager to provide status of Learning Plan and Objectives; provide final report at end of internship term.

Your compensation:
At Sound Credit Union we believe in paying our employees a fair and living wage. Individual offers are made dependent upon a candidate's prior experience and education level as it pertains to their role. This strategy promotes a talented and empowering work environment that we hope you will be a part of! Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates, which allows us to offer merit-based salary increases.
Minimum: $20.00
Midpoint: $22.00
Maximum: $24.00
Your hours:
Our interns can work anywhere form 20 - 40 hours a week depending on your availability and our team's needs. A typical schedule for this role is hybrid, Monday - Friday: 8 am - 4:30 pm.
In your role you will have the ability to combine in-person and remote work.
