An AISC Certified Fabricator, EDCO works with General Construction, Marine Construction, Renewable Energy, Aerospace and Defense, and other industries with a need for metal fabrication and specialized custom equipment.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator with a high level of proficiency in CMM Quality Control Inspection.
A qualified candidate would have no less than 5 years of CNC machining experience. This includes broad knowledge of machining techniques and CNC machine operation and involves familiarity with diverse setups and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations to the capacity of the machine. Advanced setup, adjustments, proving out programming and operation to perform complex series of progressive machining operations with close and exacting tolerances requires a high degree of skill. May run more than one part simultaneously. This position assumes the machinist can work independently on the most complex parts and serves as a technical resource to less experienced machinists, including setting up and instructing other operators and performing inspection for conformance.
Additionally, this position requires no less than 2 years of experience in Quality Control inspection utilizing CMM Inspection software. The Quality Inspector must be able to work independently and with a team to inspect a variety of parts and materials using a variety of inspection instruments as well as perform detailed first article inspections. The Inspector examines materials received, finished products, and work in process of fabrication into metal products to ensure conformance with work orders, drawings, and template specifications.
Our shop runs specialty parts with tight tolerances, prototypes, and small production runs. This level of an operator should be able to work directly from a drawing or CAD model to develop a manufacturing process, fixture design, select special order tooling for purchase as well as further optimize existing programs and processes to improve production efficiency, quality and/or reliability. Our shop utilizes Mastercam and Haas mills and lathes for machining and CAM2 Software for our FARO Arm and a Laser Tracker for quality inspection.

Qualifications.
- Knowledge of machining operations using recognized tooling and procedures, where tolerances are critical
- Knowledge of CNC, Lathe, Mill Turn and Manual machine operations
- Effective communication, relationship, time-management, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to drive continuous improvement processes and standards
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team
- Requires working knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and basic algebra
- Ability to read detailed drawings or files, including drawings, sketches, and those for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
- Qualified candidate must posses' ability to use precision measuring instruments (Laser Tracker & Articulating Arm) independently without supervision

Specific Activities.Activities include but not limited to:
- Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
- Enter commands, instructions, or specifications into equipment
- Insert and remove accessories, tools, or other parts from equipment
- Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning, detection of malfunctions and adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials or products
- Inspect fabricated and machined parts to ensure they meet quality control standards using common manual inspection equipment,
- Operates CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to dimensionally inspect product
- Interprets CMM results to accurately compare product to engineering drawings/specifications and electronic models
- Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to assess part conformance
- Identify and document any non-conformities or defects found during inspections
- Collaborate with production team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records and documentation in accordance with company procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience.
- 5+ years of machining experience in setup, and operating CNC equipment
- 2+ years of quality control inspection using FARO ARM, Laser Tracker and CMM inspection software
Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Schedule. Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts, may require some overtime work.
Job Type. Full-time, Non-exempt position
Compensation. $26-$32 DOE
