Job DescriptionDo you like to fix things and troubleshoot? Do you like boats and working on high-tech equipment?
We have a Skillbridge internship available in Vancouver, WA for you to learn how to maintain marine equipment. This internship is ~90-120 days [some flexibility on internship duration] and previous experience or knowledge are not necessary.
You will work with specialized hydrographic and marine geophysical instrumentation systems performing inspections, diagnosis, minor repairs and maintenance of equipment including managing small fabrication projects. Act as the point of contact for field staff regarding equipment and instrumentation.
What You'll Do
Evaluate, setup, install and maintain marine instrumentation and equipment systems
Repair and maintenance of vehicles, vessels and maintain systems for immediate deployment
Maintain inventory, monitor shipments and maintain logs
Manage vessel, trailer and vehicle records, track licensing, annual inspections, certifications, and assist in managing safety and compliance
Occasionally conduct field work in offshore, coastal and inland marine environments
Who You Are
MUST be Active Duty Military within 180 days of EAS/ETS
Strong mechanical, analytical and trouble-shooting aptitude
Adept at communicating, both written and verbally
Eager to learn with a strong work ethic and accountability
Ability to walk and work on boats in the water
Not required, but a plus for experience with marine electronics, electrical wiring, maintaining engines and/or boats, driving large vehicles and trailering boats
NOTE: Must be fully vaccinated for Covid
