Job DescriptionSite Acquisition Project Manager
Come help us build the future! We are looking for experts in site acquisition to help conduct site tracking for our client! In this role, you will work closely with the Regional Business Developers (RBDs) and Global Infrastructure Program Management (GIPM) TPMs within their assigned region.
Core Responsibilities
The Site Acquisition (SAQ) PM team is divided into 3 main regions as follows: the Americas (AMER), Europe, Africa & the Middle East (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC) and will conduct site tracking for their regions.
SAQ PMs manage the Due Diligence tasks and documentation for their regions. The Due Diligence program reviews environmental, radio frequency interference, title, line of sight and natural hazards risk. The Due Diligence program, combined with the review that takes place during the Site Assessment phase, ensures that SAQ contracts for sites that meet all technical requirements, pose minimal risk to Amazon to acquire, and are cost-effective to lease, permit, license, build, and operate.
SAQ PMs are responsible for liaising between the RBDs and GIPM team to maintain accurate schedule dates and site data in Smartsheet (the internal tracking system), and for attending the recurring Regional meetings led by the GIPM TPMs to report on SAQ progress.
Ongoing Tasks
PMs will conduct the following areas of site tracking and due diligence, including but not limited to:
Communicate due diligence results so that internal partners and external vendors clearly understand the results and how to take action on them.
Conduct and manage regional vendor set-up in Smartsheet (internal tracking system)
Ensure vendors and internal stakeholders are receiving the latest program requirements documents.
Programmatically track and report on regional site and milestone status.
Attend Ground Infrastructure Project Management (GIPM) regional meetings.
Follow Procure to Pay processes and approvals for contracts and work orders.
Order and procure POs for DD or other SAQ-related fees
Populate location, landlord, and other relevant site information in Smartsheet upon Site Candidate Information Package ("SCIP") approval
Identify and implement areas for process improvement and automation to drive efficiencies and results using technology solutions
Request site codes.
Leverage existing and collaborate on new mechanisms to manage due diligence budget and schedule.
Manage the overall Due Diligence process and, in collaboration with other PMs, maintain and update process documentation and operating procedures as needed (e.g., Wiki).
Responsible for properly maintaining site-specific documentation
Completion of Reserved Site Order ("RSO") and Provisioned Site Order ("PSO") checklists (with approval from RBD)
Spot risks, ask the right questions, clear blockers, ensure the right tradeoffs are made, and escalate appropriately.
Experience and skillset
2 or more years of experience required in the telecom industry
Demonstrated data analytics and process automation skills
Successful candidate must be a self-starter, take initiative on projects, and learn internal client processes to be able to ask the right questions and qualify potential sites
