Job Description: EVI International seeks qualified Turf Irrigation Technicians to join our team. The primary responsibilities include:
- Installation of Irrigation Systems: Installing sports field and golf course irrigation systems, including commercial 2-Wire Decoder sprinkler systems with central control computers. Tasks involve following blueprint mappings, trenching, excavating, laying pipes, running wires for control, installing sprinklers, backfilling trenches, setting up controllers, and testing systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Identifying and resolving issues with electrical components, central irrigation control computers, irrigation pipes, and other tools. This includes regular system maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- System Maintenance and Testing: Conducting start-ups, evaluations, and winterization of systems. Performing tests to ensure the proper functioning of sprinklers and valves, and making necessary adjustments.
- Repair and Replacement: Locating, excavating, and repairing or replacing damaged or malfunctioning equipment such as irrigation pipes, sprinklers, etc.
- Purchasing and Inventory Management: Responsible for purchasing repair parts and maintaining accurate inventory records. All purchases must align with EVI's internal processes and authorized supplier lists.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of field hydraulics, HDPE equipment, GPS systems, pump station operations.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Critical thinking skills for problem-solving and minimal impact repairs.
- Knowledge in water efficiency assessment and adjustments.
- Ability to read diagrams and blueprints for system layout.
- Effective recordkeeping and documentation skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of daily paperwork and accurate record-keeping as required by each project.
- Flexibility to perform other tasks as temporarily or permanently assigned.
The employer will provide on-the-job training in the proper use and maintenance of landscaping power tools and equipment. Employer will provide training on job for duties that will be required at each job site. The employer will provide workers, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Must have a valid driver’s license. 40 hours per week, dependent on weather and need, normally Monday – Saturday 8:00AM until 5:00 PM. Workers are needed to begin work on 4/1/2024 through 11/30/2024. Applicant must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described, and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Employer will ask the applicant for a verbal commitment to work the entire stated period. Employer may conduct an interview over the phone.
Work will be performed at multiple work sites in the counties of Spokane and Asotin. Travel between the worker's residence and the jobsite is not compensated. Employer will provide all daily transportation to the work sites.
Overtime hours may be available and will vary depending on weather or extra work not completed during a normal workday and will begin once the worker has worked more than 40 hours/week. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid on Friday (bi-weekly) by check. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Management, at its sole discretion, may elect to provide workers with bonuses at any time during their seasonal employment for any reason, but mainly for work performance, skill, and tenure.
Shared lodging is available in rental housing at a rate of $125.00 per person, per week for workers that cannot reasonably return to their original residence daily. In the event this option is utilized the amount of $250.00 will be deducted on a bi-weekly basis from the worker’s paycheck.
If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Should the employee request a less economical form or transportation they may be required to pay the difference or management may decide to pay the full cost. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $15.46/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts.
