Description
Grays Harbor College is accepting applications for engaging and dedicated adjunct faculty teaching Art Methods in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education (BAST) program for spring 2024. The BAST program is focused on K-8 teaching and ELL instruction. This class meets on Thursday evenings from 4:30 - 8:40 pm.
This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position and not eligible for benefits. The compensation to teach this 5-credit course is $4105.95. Faculty positions at Grays Harbor College have been designated as bargaining unit positions represented by the Grays Harbor College Federation of Teachers, Local 4984. The faculty union and the college have a bargaining unit agreement (referred to as the contract) that is posted on the GHC website at https://www.ghc.edu/hr/labor-relations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and teaching BAST courses for students who plan to become K-8 teachers
- Developing and delivering organized lesson plans tied to GHC common syllabi and student learning outcomes and PESB Standards
- Using high student engagement activities
- Providing consistent and timely feedback to students
- Supporting struggling students
- Participating in BAST faculty meetings
- Designing and administering key assessments that are aligned to InTASC and other state standards designated for each course

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the K-8 systems
- Current teacher's certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching college-level Education courses.
- Experience with online teaching platforms - Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, etc.
