The Assistant/Associate Scientist, Sample Management position is responsible for the movement and control of routine characterization samples and materials in support of the Development Operations laboratories at the Dexter site in Seattle, WA.
This primarily includes, but is not limited to, sample receiving and distribution, inventory control, chain of custody, sample tracking, documentation, and staging within the Product and Analytical Development teams.
Some of the Your Responsibilities:
Maintaining the chain of custody of characterization samples throughout the complete life
span of samples: receipt, handling, storage, distribution, and transfer, of samples at the site.
Staging samples for the Analytical Operations team for routine characterization testing
Ensuring that obsolete or expired samples and materials are shipped offsite to be destroyed and disposed of prior to their expiration date.
Maintaining sample tracking throughout the life of the sample while the Development Operations owns the samples.
Performing sample queries and periodic storage reports, as required.
Receiving incoming characterization samples in collaboration with warehouse personnel.
Performing document review related to sample management.
Creating and revising SOP, FORM, WP, and TRN related to sample management.
Skills or Requirements:
Experience with cold chain sample storage and transfer.
Strong communication skills (oral and written). Proficient with computer software programs/
applications.
Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with
challenging/conflicting deadlines.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in biological science, or related field.
0-3 years of relevant work experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Sample management experience is a PLUS.
