About the Job:
The Canada Packaged Freight Logistics Procurement Manager (PM) will have specific transport mode responsibility for all Odyssey clients operating in Canada. In that role, the PM will execute, implement and maintain carrier solutions to deliver the lowest cost after meeting service level commitments Odyssey provides to its customers with consideration for the environmental sustainability of the network. The PM will maintain a current knowledge of procurement practices and provide routine commercial support to clients. This includes establishing and maintaining a respectful, professional and ethical carrier relationship on behalf of Odyssey to both clients and logistics service providers. The PM will additionally understand and continuously improve the work processes of the Procurement Department.
In This Role, You Will:
Create network solutions and procurement strategies for the Canadian portion of client networks that delivery the cost while meeting service level commitments
Provide mode procurement support to Odyssey and its clients as it relates to their Canadian Operations. Represent Odyssey related to Canadian support in client meetings, as necessary
Develop new supplier solutions when clients present new requirements
Identify and screen new potential carriers in Canadian markets and provide support to Odyssey Safety team in the qualification of new carriers
Negotiate and contract commercial terms with carriers
Actively contribute to department and managed services continuous improvement programs and projects
Establish and maintain Odyssey standardized fuel and accessorial schedules and route guide pricing
Follow and drive toward Odyssey financial and service targets
Research anomalies in Odyssey's calculations to reach financial targets
Strive toward a goal of flawless master data by reviewing and submitting master data improvements for upload into TMS
Monitor overall supplier performance and effectiveness to ensure financial and service objectives
Maintain a good working relationship with Odyssey's carriers supporting the Canadian market
Provide subject matter expertise for Canadian market for all operational staff as they relate to freight tendering, audit, import/export/customs/NAFTA, border broker management, complaint resolution, and damage claims
Qualifications

Required:
Canadian less-than-truckload procurement experience in a brokerage environment is required
A minimum of 5 years of Canadian packaged goods (TL + LTL) transportation experience is required
Experienced working with hazardous and tanker endorsed shipments preferred
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Transportation, Supply Chain or Business, is required
Outstanding data analysis skills using desktop computer tools and software
Proven problem-solving skills. Certification in lean-six sigma continuous improvement principles preferred
Self-directed, focused and proactive
Very good interpersonal skills with commitment to work effectively with client, carrier and Odyssey personnel
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical projects simultaneously

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.
