Training Instructor II
As the Training Instructor, you will be responsible for providing quality training to commissioning technicians, operations supervisors, and managers via formal classroom courses. You will encourage active participation in class and foster a positive learning environment. In addition to delivering training, you will work hand in hand with the Instructional Analyst Developer (IAD) to create and update training material in response to changes in plant design.
You will perform many daily duties, including:
Conduct training courses with a professional understanding of the principals of learning and teaching methods, focusing primarily on plant operations and related subjects.
Inform students of the complete objective purpose of the lesson while maintaining motivation and interest throughout the entire classroom instruction.
Evaluate effectiveness of training/course presentations.
Work with an IAD to develop and revise courses using the ADDIE model for instructional design.
Develop and select training aids.
Test students to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of such training.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Conduct training (e.g., classroom and/or on-the-job training), including instruction, exam administration and training effectiveness evaluations:
Implement training programs to qualify operations personnel to ensure they have the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform work safely with competencies commensurate with their responsibilities.
Support development of training material and interface with subject-matter-experts in the Line Organization(s).
Coordinate and communicate between the training organization and other line management or support organizations to ensure training needs are identified and met through effective training.
Perform observations and assessments to ensure activities are implemented safely and effectively in accordance with approved procedures.
Support a strong Nuclear Safety Quality Culture (NSQC) by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work, in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Education/Experience:
High School (HS) Diploma, and at least 6 years' combined experience in operations or maintenance, and/or providing technical training or classroom instruction
OR
An associate degree in Science or Education, and at least 4 years' combined experience in operations or maintenance, and/or providing technical training or classroom instruction
OR
A bachelor's degree in Science or Education, and at least 2 years' combined experience in operations or maintenance, and/or providing technical training or classroom instruction
Preferred candidates will have:
At least 6 years' experience in technical instruction in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.
At least 3 years' experience in technical instruction of a DOE Order 426.2 curricula.
At least 1 years' experience in technical training development.
Progression to the next grade is based upon complexity of assignment and sustained performance.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $82,868.03 - $126,787.23 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
