Position Overview
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor the incumbent will assist in the operation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of assigned mechanical equipment associated with wastewater treatment plants and sewage pump stations. The work includes a variety of gasoline, propane and diesel-powered equipment. After initial training, the incumbent may complete routine assignments independently, subject to final inspection.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSRequired Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of work experience as a maintenance mechanic in a wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant or related field; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the work.
This is a full-time position with a full salary range of $25.74 - $36.37. This position is covered under the 589 Utilities Collective Bargaining Agreement. It offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance and WA State Pension (retirement),11 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays, 8 hours of annual vacation accrued per month, and 8 hours of sick leave accrued per month.
