1) Partner closely with supervisor, partner staff (schools and/or community organizations), interns and volunteers to: - Organize and communicate the schedule of school garden visioning, planning and build
- Deliver and/or provide oversight for garden-based activities
- Assist with planning and implementation of plantings for activities/initial garden planting
2) Plan and coordinate purchase, organization and storage of garden tools and supplies 3) Become familiar with Farm to School resources 4) Develop relationships with staff, students, volunteers and parents to stimulate involvement in garden activities, build and use. Involve students in planning whenever possible 5) Work with WWVF2S Education Coordinator to prepare lessons and club activities. Preparation will include coordinating with community volunteers to ensure supervision for outdoor lessons and gathering needed materials 6) Plan for maintenance of the garden space – working with facilities, volunteer work teams and interns 7) Plan for use or distribution of garden produce (cooking with students, cafeteria, food pantry, etc.) 8) Participate in training opportunities and participate in weekly supervisor/team check-ins. Zoom and/or in-person 9) Track important information and milestones using assigned Google Drive folder. Track hours spent on various activities for payroll reporting - template provided 10) Assist with social media and other forms of community outreach as applicable 11) Other tasks and duties as assigned |
