Polisher

Essential Functions:

1.    Polishes and buffs steel, aluminum and stainless steel articles, using hand-held and stationery electric polishers.

2.    Attaches wheel or belt to drive mechanism. Starts polisher and manipulates work piece against abrasive wheel to remove metal and surface defects.

3.    Examines part for acceptability of finish.

4.    Secures work piece to bench or table and guides abrasive polishing wheel over work piece to remove scratches and other defects from metal surface.

5.    Moves buffing brush over surfaces of work piece to remove fine scratches and to achieve specified finish.

6.    Properly records all data required.

7.    Wears and maintains proper personal protective equipment.

8.    Clean, organize and maintain work area as prescribed by supervision.

9.    Dump liners from the bag hose.

10.  Foam wrap finished product.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

·         Over 18 years old.

·         Ability to pass a drug and background check.

·         Ability to pass pre-employment physical test.

Machines, Tools, Special Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment Used:

Stationary grinder/polisher, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, hat, overall, respirator, hand truck, forklift, straps, liners, polisher, wrench, broom, dustpan, foam wrap, etc.
