We are building our team for expansion; this is a ground floor opportunity! Our company is seeking a state of Washington Licensed Driving Instructor to train and assess our students in driving skills and the rules of the road. You will be responsible for explaining the proper way to drive, use hand signals and pass safely. In addition, you will explain how to handle emergency situations and how to fix problem areas with our students’ driving skills. As a driving instructor, we expect you to provide high-quality customer service both in-class and on the road. Communication skills are vital for conveying instructions to students and answering their questions. Train, assess and assist our students in all aspects of driving. Ultimately, your main goal is to build self-confidence in all of our students by helping them become responsible drivers.
Responsibilities:
Drive students through a lesson plan of the relevant points in a clear and concise manner to improve driving skills.
Guide students through the completion of a driving-related form in preparation for the driving test.
Prepare students to complete the theory test – familiarize them with the format, types of questions and expected passing score.
Present and complete a lesson plan that is safely designed to prepare students for their practical driving test.
Assess student progress and drive new students to encourage positive progress.
Efficiently organize any paperwork related to lessons and tests.
Maintain student records on visual demonstration of ability for future reference – for example, punctuality, minutia control and speed.
Required qualifications:
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must be over 21 and be a licensed driver for five years or more
- Fewer than two tickets in rolling two-year period
- Must provide five-year driving abstract
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
Preferred qualifications:
- Driver Training Instructor License. Hiring bonus available if already a licensed Driver Training Instructor
- People person with experience working with young people
- Able to work unsupervised
- Reliable and punctual
- Professional communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient in excel, Teams and Powerpoint
