Job DescriptionJob Purpose:
As part of a team help maintain our wine grape vineyard, ensuring quality, yields, and ripeness.
Woodward Canyon is a small independent winery and vineyard. We have a small crew of 4-5 full-time seasonal employees throughout the season. We value our employees and are insistent on fostering a safe, respectful work environment. We provide water, masks, tools, gloves, and all other PPE whenever our vineyard staff works. If the temperature rises above 93 degrees, we start work at 5 am and work until 93 then, the remainder of an employee's 8-hour day is paid. Overtime is paid per Wa state law.
Duties:
* Work at direction of vineyard foreman and vineyard manager to manage 40 acres of vines.
* Physical maintenance of vines; pruning, bud removal, sucker removal, crop and leaf thinning and hand harvesting.
*Small amounts of fungi/pesti/herbicide applications using a back pack sprayer.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
Thoroughness,must be able to bend, crouch, carry 50#, Planning, Judgment, Innovation, Results Driven, Quality Focus, Self-Motivated, Forecasting, Professionalism, Job Knowledge, Verbal Communication and work in cool and warm temperatures.
