Mechanic
JOB DESCRIPTION
Shift: Day, Swing, Nights as assigned
P.P.E:Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Eye Protection, Gloves, Work Boots, And Facial Covering
Hazardous Materials:Welding Rod, Acetylene, Oxygen, Oils, Lubricants, Flammables, Welding Fumes and Spray Paints (Aerosol)
Machines/Tools:All Required Tools for Job
Machine/Tools Training Provided: Yes
Working Conditions:Inside/Outside Work, Excessive Heat/Cold/Noise, Wet Surfaces, High Speed Equipment, Confined Space, Dust, Stairs, Trenches, Heights up to 50’
Physical Requirements:70% Standing, 20% Walking, Kneeling, 10% Squatting, Deliberate Crawling, Steady Reaching, Fast Bending, Twisting, Repetitive use of Hands/Arms/Wrist.
Lifting: Occasional up to 100 lbs, Consistent 25 lbs, 20% of shift weight is lifted from floor/waist/overhead to floor/Waist/
Wrist Repetition: Yes Throughout Shift
Push/Pull:Up to 100 lbs
Driving:Forklift/Bobcat
JOB DUTIES OVERVEIW
A Mechanic inspects, diagnosis and fixes faults in an engine and components of the vehicle. Insures that the complete general and complex maintenance tasks, including oil changes, mechanical part replacement and engine overhauls are completed. Mechanic researches for parts needed to complete job at hand, and report to their supervisor for support. Mechanics will work with all team members to minimize downtime, and all other team members to ensure a vehicle is safe and effectively operating. Employee must Provide all tools required to perform the job duties.
Safety:
- Be involved in setting the example for safe behavior.
- Challenge unsafe behavior.
- Reinforcing safe behavior.
- Identifying and correcting hazardous conditions.
Housekeeping:
- Employee must return all company tools to the proper storage and pick up all waste when done with the job.
- Help with the general clean-up of shop area and surrounding areas
- Keep personal work areas clean and clear of debris.
Productivity:
- Follow all safety procedures for plant site.
- In depth knowledge of engine components
- Superior knowledge of maintenance tool and repair equipment.
- Excellent Problem solving skills and attention to details.
- Vast knowledge of electrical systems
- Keep and retain a complete parts inventory and service schedule.
- Prepare work orders and consult with supervisor on priority level.
- Knowledge of welding and torches to repair vehicles as needed.
- Generate work orders for issues throughout facility that need addressed, turn them into supervisor.
- Minimize overall downtime.
