GEOLOGIST - IMMEDIATE OPENING
JOIN MTC'S NW REGION GEOTECHNICAL GROUP
MTC is seeking a dynamic and motivated licensed Washington State Geologist to join our Geotechnical Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience providing geotechnical, hydrogeologic and geologic design and construction recommendations for municipalities, government and tribal agencies, private developers and public entities. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, conducting full geotechnical site investigations from scope proposal, coordinating and conducting fieldwork, data analysis, and professional report production.
MTC’s geotechnical consultation services encompass the design of deep, shallow, and alternative foundation systems, site seismic and liquefaction characterization, slope stability analysis and Critical Areas Ordinance investigations, retaining wall and shoring design, flexible and rigid pavement design, and the development and oversight of construction specifications and recommendations. MTC also conducts hydrogeologic site characterization and modeling to support design, site development, and construction efforts. Specifically, this work is conducted in support of retaining wall and slope stability analysis, design of pervious pavement systems, stormwater retention and infiltration systems, and site construction dewatering systems.
MTC is looking for an individual with strong geotechnical and hydrogeologic modeling capabilities and prefers proficiency in at least one of the following: experience developing site plans and design recommendations using CAD software, experience utilizing and performing analysis using GIS software, pile design software (Allpile, L-pile, or similar), foundation settlement modeling and analysis, liquefaction analysis (Liquefypro, or similar), slope stability modeling (Geostudios Slope/W, or similar) and seepage and groundwater mounding analysis (Geostudios Seep/W, MODFLOW, or similar).
