SUMMARY: The Mechanic I is responsible for assisting the Mechanic II in maintaining the district’s cars, buses, and other rolling stock in such a state of operating readiness that supports no disruptions to the educational program; manage operation of the bus garage; communicating with the Head Mechanic and Transportation Supervisor so that decisions are made in a collaborative manner, maintaining accurate records of shop operations.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Transportation Supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work Year: 260 days (includes 12 paid holidays), September - August
Hours: Eight (8) hours per day
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
